Mahavir Jayanti & Good Friday

Mahavir Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of a great sage who taught the world the essence of “Unity of Life”.  Mahavir Jayanti is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor at all the Jain temples all over the country.  Lord Mahavira is said to be the founder of Jainism and laid down the principles of Jainism. Lord Mahavira left his kingdom to seek greater truth and attain Nirvana. His saying was a lot similar to the sayings like you reap what you sow and what goes around comes around. The difference is that mahavira insisted that we have to reap the seeds of what we did in our past life also. The individuals who face hardships in the current life is actually the result of the wrongdoings of the past life. On this day, everybody tries to remember the teachings of Lord Mahavira and also make promise that nobody will hurt any living being in the future knowingly and unknowingly. The struggles and hardships faced by Lord Mahavira portray how great his individuality and his personality were.

Good Friday is developed from an older name “God’s Friday”. It is appropriate because the suffering and death of Jesus marked the dramatic culmination of God’s plan to save his people from their sins. Good Friday is celebrated as the anniversary of Jesus’ death on the cross. It was God’s own doing – a sharp, prophetic jab at a time and a culture obsessed by happiness. Good Friday calls to a jarring halt the sacred “pursuit of happiness” as to pursue happiness, we must first experience sorrow. “He who goes sowing tears returns in joy”. Good Friday recalls for us the greatness and wonder of God’s love. The day is called “GOOD” but “GREAT” or “HOLY” Friday. Good Friday has challenged merely human goodness. It’s sad commemoration reminds us that in the face of sin, our goodness avails nothing.

JBM Global School at Noida Expressway wishes every reader and student to take inspiration from great people like Lord Mahavira and Jesus Christ to live righteous life so that your good deeds are remembered century after century.

Chase – a rainbow platter for vibrant health

Eating a rainbow of colors in food is a big plus on the health scale. Consuming different colored foods plays a role in ensuring that a child gets enough essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber and more. Eating this way helps to protect against many potential body ailments and chronic diseases such as illnesses like the flu, digestive issues, loss of bone density etc. Healthy eating promotes people to “eat the rainbow”. The fact is that a child can learn a lot about food by just looking at it. Vegetables, fruits, and starchy foods provide the bulk of most of the meals and the remaining part of the diet should be made up of milk, dairy foods, and protein foods.

A balanced diet is of utmost importance for the body. Eating a healthy breakfast is especially important on days when exercise is on the agenda. Skipping breakfast can leave one feeling lightheaded or lethargic while working out. Choosing the right kind of breakfast is crucial. Too many people rely on simple carbohydrates to start their day. But a plain sandwich white bagel or doughnut is not the answer. In comparison, a fiber- and protein-rich breakfast may fend off hunger pangs for longer and provide the energy needed to keep the exercise going especially.

Choosing the right kind of carbohydrates is important. Too many people rely on the simple carbs found in sweets and processed foods. Instead, you should focus on eating the complex carbs found in whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and beans. Whole grains have more staying power than refined grains because you digest them more slowly. They can help you feel full for longer and fuel your body throughout the day. They can also help stabilize your blood sugar levels. Finally, these quality grains have the vitamins and minerals you need to keep your body running at its best. Fruits and vegetables are rich sources of natural fiber, vitamins, minerals, and other compounds that the body needs to function properly. They’re also low in calories and fat.

The school on Noida Expressway suggests to all the parents of top Nursery and Primary schools aim to fill half of the plate with fruits and veggies at every meal. Try to “eat the rainbow” by choosing fruits and veggies of different colors. This will help enjoy the full range of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that the produce aisle has to offer. In today’s day, when the immune system is getting weakened by environmental pollution be it sound, water or air. We are sure our children can fight one.
