celebrated Basant Panchami and gave the children a rare insight into ‘Abhishekam’
of Goddess Saraswati with the traditional rituals. Many devotional
mantras and hymns were chanted. Children offered yellow marigold flowers. The
pre-primary classes of JBM Global, one of the best nursery schools in Noida
celebrated the festival by offering yellow garlands and were dressed in yellow
clothes. All the students must get inducted with the under mentioned knowledge.
Basant Panchami a popular Hindu festival celebrates the onset
of spring and end of the winter season as ‘Basant Ritu’. It is
celebrated to honor the Goddess Saraswati (the diety of knowledge, art
and music), the goddess of learning who bequeaths the greatest wealth
of humanity, the wealth of knowledge. Goddess Saraswati denotes serenity and
calmness. It is celebrated on the fifth day of the Magh month every
year. Basant Panchami also known as Saraswati Day is celebrated by the
Hindus across the world with great enthusiasm and festivities.

Goddess Saraswati sits on a white padma (lotus) holding a Veena in one hand and
a book on the other. She is dressed completely white. She brings with her a
bearer, white duck. Wearing yellow clothes and cooking bright colored foods are
the highlights as yellow represents spiritual knowledge, increasing the
significance of the festival. The mustard fields in North
India blooms during this season giving a yellow coat to nature.
Basant Panchami is the day when children are taught their first words and are
initiated into the art of writing which marks the beginning of learning
process. Special worships are organized by schools in Noida for goddess
Saraswati where Children place their books on the altar, at the goddess’s feet.
No one is allowed to touch the books during this period as they believe that
the goddess Saraswati is blessing the books.
